_________

now is the time in the weekly email when betsy gives her weekly shout outs, and call outs.  remember, you want to get shouted out, but you don't want to get called out.

a shout out to corey and patrick, who are leaving us to return to the states.  i don't know exactly what their plans are, but i think it involves a stopover in vermont to get married, a honeymoon in the catskills, and then a move down south to settle in together.  congratulations to corey and patrick.

a call out to everyone who has pictures from shanghai and still hasn't posted them.  i haven't seen any pictures yet taken by someone from beijing.  what are you waiting for? betsy doesn't like to be kept waiting.  just ask joe.

a shout out to stephen, for helping us secure fields for tuesday and thursday nights.  well done stephen.  but if this doesn't work out...

a call out to brady, who ruined everyone's fun on sunday by worrying about us getting hurt by hail or lightning.  well what do you expect from a 32 year old?  be careful not to run with scissors or you will really get an earful.

a shout out to barbie and sandy for bringing their camcorders with them to shanghai and filming our monster movie.  great job guys.  the footage was awesome.

a call out to barbie and sandy, for keeping the footage they took from shanghai closely under wraps, and not allowing anyone to see it, like they just shot citizen cane and don't want the studios to get their hands on it and ruin their masterpiece.

WEEKLY ITEM #3:  MAILBAG

every week, betsy gets a lot of emails inviting her out on dates, complementing her on her leadership skills, asking her ultimate related questions, and wanting to know who she is.  the mailbag is where she answers these questions.  as always, these are real letters from real readers.

Letter #1:

dear betsy,

you probably haven't seen me yet (i certainly don't know who you are) but i've been lurking on the list for a few months.  i live out in the villas, on a pretty large estate.  our back lawn is a flat field with evenly cut alabama sawgrass, approximately 40 yards by 120 yards, with a border along the edges that runs about 3 yards wide.  we don't really have much use for it, so i thought that beijing ultimate might want to use it.

my mom also owns a fleet of rental cars, and we'd be happy to drive people to and from pick up whenever you like.  just send along your addresses and we'll come pick you up.

for the moment, my mom is out of town, and i'm leaving for the summer, so if someone wants to house sit for me, that would be great.  the house is only 300 square metres, but if you don't mind being cramped, it would be great to have someone to water the plants and look after our pool and jacuzzi.  if anyone has the time, let me know.  i'll have a driver come pick you up.

cheers,
julio

dear julio,

thanks for the offer, but betsy is allergic to sawgrass.  too bad.  it sounds like your back yard would make an excellent croquet court.

thanks anway,
betsy

Letter #2:

dear betsy,

i appreciate the weekly email, but the google group can be really annoying when people spam it with jokes and off topic items.  can we implement some kind of filter

overwhelmed,
mark

dear mark,

betsy completely agrees. in order to rectify the situation, i think that we do need a filter.  so from now on, if you have a post, request, question, comment or smart aleck remark that you aren't sure is suitable for the whole group, please send it to jamieson potter at jpo...@alliance-digital.com.  he will then make the decision on who should or shouldn't receive that email, and forward it to all relevant parties.

hope that helps,
betsy

Letter #3:

dear betsy,

i'm a potential sponsor.  how many members does beijing ultimate have?

loaded,
shi zhengrong
suntech power

dear shi,

i'm glad you asked.  this week, betsy is proud to announce that beijing ultimate now has over 100 members on its google group. as a reward, our 100th member, happy rat, is going to receive a prize package valued at over 2025 rmb.

the prize package includes 2000 rmb worth of five ultimate apparel.  in order to redeem your voucher, you must pick it up from zahlen by midnight of the 26th of june.  don't worry, zahlen's in seattle, so that gives you an extra 15 hours to redeem your prize.  in addition, the next time happy rat comes to pickup, he won't have to pay (valid only at pickup, and not for summer league).

congratulations happy rat on being beijing ultimate's 100th player.  in honor of your achievement, your new beijing ultimate nickname is centurion.  in chinese, we'll just say, bai bai.

and be on the look out for the next award winner, beijing ultimate's 200th member, with double the prize package.

go google groups,
betsy

WEEKLY RUMOR THAT MUST BE TRUE: Betsy was at practice on sunday, and while everyone was out playing in the rain, she noticed that zoe's diary had fallen out of her bag.  she went to pick it up in order to return it promptly, but the book fell open and betsy couldn't help but read a bit.  what she discovered is shocking.  turns out zoe, after attending the menage a trois party at jenn brown's, asked greg if he'd be into experimenting with some threesomes.  greg was totally into it.  no wonder greg and zoe were seen huddled on the sidelines, whispering with klaas.

WEEKLY ITEM #4:  Social Calender

Sat Jun 30th.  Dice Tournament and BBQ.  Ryan's house

BBQ at ryan's place this saturday starting at 5.  Bringing veggies and non alcoholic drinks would be nice.

First ever die (liars dice or whatever you want to call it) tournament as well.  This is the game you always play at bars, or see at least see the locals playing.  Small buy in can be discussed.  Die tourney starts at 3.  Any number of people is ok; we already have about 7, but the more the better and if you want in just let ryan know.  13810625114

If you haven't been to ryan's place, it's in Wang Jing at Da Xi Yang Xin Cheng
Building 518 gate 2 room 1A.

WEEKLY QUIZ:  for you newbies, the weekly quiz is a game where betsy asks a few simple questions, and it's your job to provide the correct answers.  as always, googling is prohibited.  this week's winner will receive a prize package courtesy of five ultimate.

1) name all the original cosby kids

2) name all the original seaver kids

3) name either the complete set of pembroke kids or powell kids, from charles in charge

bonus) what show featured vicki the robot

please email your answers directly to betsy, at betsyb...@gmail.com
