Frisbee Nation!

Well Winter appears to truly be upon us here in Beijing. Last week
marked the beginning of Hanukah, Beijing saw it's first snow of the
season Yesterday, and Christmas is fast approaching. Sadly, with the
holiday rush hitting hard this year, Betsy does not have the kind of
time she normally has to devote to her weekly emails. So this is
pretty much just an informative email, letting you all know where to
go and keep warm on Wednesday nights and Sunday afternoons (besides
Candice's bed).
____________

The Weekly Schedule

Wednesday, Dec. 12 BCIS 7 30- 9 30 Come celebrate the last day of the
Festival of Lights with some ultimate at BCIS!

Sunday, Dec. 16 BCIS 2:30- 5:00

We've been fortunate enough to grab BCIS for both Wednesday and Sunday
pickup, and Betsy couldn't be happier. Not only is it the largest
indoor location we've played in this season, it also a conveniently
located IN the city of Beijing, rather than somewhere outside the
Fifth Ring. For any newbies out there, it's a short walk south of
DaWangLu station, if you're still not quite sure how to get there,
just spam the list. (or call Candice @ 13651077984)
_______

That's all this week, ladies and gentleman. Hopefully Betsy will get
the holiday shopping done early and have a little more free time next
week to put into the email.

Which brings us to this week's moment of zen, which has to be the most
inventive thing Betsy has ever seen 5 Ultimate gear used for (did
Zahlen have a hand in this absurdity?): http://youtube.com/watch?v=A8_VOj7mTXg&feature=related

catch you on the field,

hey ya'll,

Betsy's been doing a little too much spelunking at alfa herself. i
told her to lay off, but she said she was also defending her
championship title. can't blame a girl for trying.

Note that in reality for wednesday's pick up we have the gym reserved
from 7 to 9:30 pm. In other words, we are paying for 2 and a half
hours of pure rubber over concrete bliss.

i and a few others will be there at 7. hope to see you there.

betsy, if you don't have time to be funny, i don't have time to read your emails.  at least with barbie we know it's not going to be funny before we open it.

To the BJ ultimate group god(s):

I think ya’ll might want to create a closed/managed public announcement email and an open forum group email and let people opt out of the open forum. That way group information / PR can get out to everyone without being mixed up with, uh, personal commentary. Those of ya’ll who like the free for all commentary (and the way it has been trending lately) can carry on amongst yourselves.

Hey I think George has a great point about the horrible pr we have right now. I say we should either stop this riff-raff or just create another group, one for just announcements.

i opt for creating another, because while some may object to adding another group, citing it being too "luan", we are never going to be able to appropriately censor this list. Any other opinions?

I will definitely bring it up at the next committee meeting.....

I thought that was what we had the homepage for... rather than
creating a new group and making us all navigate to two different sites
in order to get our ultimate related news and ultimate related gossip,
why don't we just continue to update the resources we already have?
seems kinda silly to me to make a whole new group....
