Hello,

I would like to know how to calculate the time (in years) of the MRCA
of the major clades in one of my phylogenetic tree. I have all the
beast output files. I am looking for some thing that is been done in
the paper, McAdam et al. 2012 (Molecular tracing of the emergence,
adaptation, and transmission of hospital-associated methicillin-
resistant Staphylococcus aureus ). They have the HPDs of the ages
also.
Please let me know and I apologize if I am missing some thing here.

Thanks,
SJJ

If it is only the tmrca estimates you are interested in:

Open the log file in Tracer, and mark the parameters you are interested in when you have the estimates window open.
Then choose 'export data' under file. Save it as a txt-file. It will be saved as a tab-delimited table that you can open in a texteditor (and copy-paste into excel)

Hope this was the answer to your question...
Cheers,
Cajsa
