Hi,

I was trying to substitute in BMVC Poster 2009 email field in footline
with "Łódź, 2012" (I'm writing in UTF8 I hope it works on your
machines), but my output pdf file doesn't contain the first letter -
there is a square. As I did some little investigation I found out that
letter ł and Ł works perfect in title but doesn't in footline. I tried
editing field \date and in .sty file I did \insertdate in place of
email but it ended up with the same result.
There is no such problem in any other part of document.
Any ideas?

Thanks

Piotrek

Hi, that's probably due to a different font style there, i.e. try to
change serif, bold, etc. font settings for footline - also check the
beamer docu font sections

I tried some changes with font style and family in footnote and I ended with some extraordinary results.
On linux I eventually could make ł letter with \l command, but on windows - no way.
I think it might be some problem with UTF8 encoding of .sty file. Weird because I tried 3 apps (notepad, notepad++, openoffice) to set UTF8 on windows with no results, but still title and author was all correct.
