[beagleboard] Urgent help

Dear Sir/Madam,
Urgent help require as well as mentor require to help for
executing my project ideas. I am new to this Beagleboard. I am doing
Voice denoising and Voice recognition project using DSP. Now i have
decided to use Beagleboard for my project. Please give me detail
information about how to implement denoising of voice and voice
recognition on Beagleboard using DSP.

How to get started?
What would be best distro? Maybe Angstrom gives more freedom as Ubuntu?
