i am new in embedded, and since 30 days i trying to setup my
beagleboard for development enviroment. right now i am very frustrated
and need yours help to solve the following issues.

1. when i first run beagleboard by connecting all the things (hdmi to
dvi connector, keyboard, powercable) it just show the logo for just
some second and it slide down untill 10% of the logo is remaining and
it freeze. is this normal. or NAND is empty

2. hyperterminal didnt show anyting.
i use the beagleboard setting as they give in wikki like 11520
baudrate, etc... but when i restart the beagleboard by pressing and
not to pressing the user button it didnt display anything (is NAND is
empty)

3. i am trying to run Angstrom on beagleboard but when it boot from
MMC card it give following three errors

hwclock: can't open /dev/misc/rtc no such file or directory
buffer i/o error on device mtdblock1, logical block 21
uncorrectable error dev mtdblock1, sector 168

one percent help would be save my time, life and my degree :) (I work
on it because it is my university project).

Thanks in advance.
regards
fawad

It is normal--there wouldn't be a logo of the NAND was empty. It
attempts to load a kernel from NAND into RAM (overwriting the display
buffer), but there is no kernel stored in NAND, so u-boot hangs. Do I
need to make this FAQ #1?

See FAQ #2 and determine if you still have a problem. The system
reference manual (http://beagleboard.org/static/BBSRM_latest.pdf) is
probably an even better reference for this.

These are in all likelihood "mostly harmless"(TM), but you might check
with the folks on http://webchat.freenode.net/?channels=oe to
understand what causes those errors.

Not having a terminal output is typically caused by incorrect cabling. I suggest you read chapter 13 of the System Reference Manual to help dignose the issue.
