Dave Smith may present some views which we disagree with, but ultimately
he brings to the table those who believe that Security is more vital
than the needs of other Charter Rights.
His arguments must needs be narrow-minded because to argue for Security
he must ignore everything else which he likely dismisses as "leftist".
He believes that Law enforcement is uncorruptable, and mistakes by the
police force or military are few and must be kept inside the force, and
that the police must also be granted greater power to do their jobs, etc.
As a person who was raised knowing that my father was a third generation
Naval man, and having also spent my formative years in Cadets, i learned
this philosophy, I respect and understand it, but nonetheless disagree
with it on a personal AND intellectual basis.
Arguing with 'Dave Smith' is like arguing with a little piece of myself,
who remembers his training.
