Responsibilities include supervisory and technical work in planning, coordinating and
supervising the work of crews and contractors as well as landscape inspections, overseeing
park development projects and assisting in the planning process. Working within budgets,
responsible for projects and programs including preparation of plans, schedules, reports and
inspections.

The successful candidate must have completion of a diploma program in a related field from
a recognized post-secondary institution, with a minimum of three years related experience,
OR

Completion of Grade 12 supplemented by a Trades Qualification in a related field,
supplemented by four years of related progressive experience, OR

Completion of Grade 12 and a Technical Certificate Program (one year full-time) in a related
field from a recognized post-secondary institution, with additional related academic courses
and training including at least one credit course in each of supervision and technical writing,
supplemented by five years of related progressive experience, OR

Completion of Grade 12 and a Citation Program (two years minimum part-time studies) from
a recognized post-secondary institution in a related field, with additional related academic
courses and training including at least one credit course in each of supervision and technical
writing, supplemented by six years of related progressive experience.

You must have highly developed skills in oral and written communications and the ability to
establish and maintain effective working relationships with the public and staff. The
knowledge of landscape standards as well as relevant legislation governing local government
administration is required. Highly developed horticultural skills and knowledge would be an
asset. A valid BC Driver’s License with a safe driving history and a Pesticide Applicator’s
License are required.
