Good { morning, afternoon, evening },

We are pleased to announce the release and immediate
availability of BBEdit 10.5.4. This is a free update for anyone
using BBEdit 10 (10.0 through 10.5.3), and includes a number of
fixes for reported problems, as well as all the new features and
refinements previously released as part of the previous 10.x upgrades.

A complete digest of the changes is available here:

<http://www.barebones.com/support/bbedit/arch_bbedit1054.html>

The update is available immediately from the BBEdit updates page:

If you're already using BBEdit 10, you can choose "Check for
Updates" from the BBEdit menu, or get the update from the BBEdit
updates page:

<http://www.barebones.com/support/bbedit/updates.html>

If you're using an older (pre-10.0) version of BBEdit, you can
download the BBEdit 10 demo from here to try it out:

<http://www.barebones.com/products/bbedit/demo.html>

The update is available in the Mac App Store now.

Enjoy,

R.

Someday I'll look back on all this and laugh... until they
sedate me.

• .DS_Store files and other Finder administrivia are now
hidden from file listings in projects and disk browsers,
even when "[Show] Everything" is turned on.

Boo, hiss.

/me religiously downloads anyways.

Aw, shucks.
No Markdown syntax highlighting fixes.

But the rest of the stuff is good!

Oh man, thanks for this one:

I had no idea that was there.

Not a problem. BBEdit is timeless.

+1 :)

With ExtraSpaceInTextViews -string "ESfp" set you can reposition the last line at the bottom of the window by using Command-Down-Arrow, while page/Down and End will pull it to the top of the window.

Excellent.

Now. Is there any way to force the last line to mid-window? I know you can tune the setting to half of the window height instead, but I prefer having all 3 options.

Going way back to vi - reposition at top, middle, bottom. Each has its advantages at times.

I agree. I feel that there should at least be an expert setting to
restore the display for Show Everything. All that is needed in the
code is to check the setting in the suppression routine before doing
the suppression.
