I'm using SlickRun for years now and at the moment I'm using version 4.1.4.2.
But there hasn't been an update for a long while now, so I was wondering, is SlickRun still in development?
When can we expect a new update?

It would be a shame if 4.1.4.2 is the last version of this great application...

The short answer is "Yes, SlickRun is still maintained." However, it's true that I haven't updated it in quite some time, as I've been busy with other projects (primarily Fiddler: http://getfiddler.com).

Having said that, I still use SlickRun every day (92,618 commands executed on my newest laptop alone), and I've made a few tweaks in the last year (mostly to get it working better on Win8).

To warrant further updates, I need suggestions for what should be added or fixed. Any suggestions?

Eric, first and foremost, hats off for SlickRun, it is indeed near perfect, as already mentioned. And also kudos for being involved with Fiddler, another must-have on my toolbag :)

I dont have any feature requests for SR, other than ask you to kindly keep it running as new versions of Windows come along ...

There is however One minor yet annoying issue: sometimes at startup SlickRun gets lost in a cycle in which it gets focus and immediatelly loses it, then get focus again ...  I have to kill it and reload. Dont happen often, but it is kind of annoying when it does ...

On Win8 64, btw

Thanks and keep up the great work you do!

Eric, i'm so glad you asked.

For me, #1: Configuration options [especially for win8]

You have configuration for ONE Systemwide Hotwey
i need configuration for TWO

The second Systemwide Hotkey is for Jot ...

On Win8, i chord Ctrl+WinKey+q for the SlickRun command line ...

For Jot, i chord Ctrl+WinKey+q for the SlickRun command line ... followed by j+Enter

i'd be happier to chord Ctrl+WinKey+j for Jot

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
For me, #2: i'd like to have multiple Jot buffers ... example, in Jot, perhaps 10 buffers,
with Ctrl+0, Ctrl+1, ... , Ctrl+9 for Jot buffer selection ...
always open in my last selected Jot buffer
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

For me, #3: i'd like to have multiple Magic Word Groups ... example, in Jot, perhaps 9 groups,
with Ctrl+1, Ctrl+2, ... , Ctrl+9 for group selection ...
always open in my last selected Magic Word Group selection;
Ctrl+0 (zero) would combine ALL groups.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Kudos, Eric ... excellent product !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you for asking.
Best regards,
Gerry
P.S.: Microsoft stole WinKey+j (switch main app & snapped app)
and WinKey+q (open Search charm to search apps)for Win8.
To change the JOT hotkey:
Q5: Can I change the systemwide hotkey for JOT from Win+J?
A:
Yes, you can change the hotkey if you’d like.
  1> Close SlickRun
  2> Click START > RUN > and type  notepad "%userprofile%\application data\slickrun\slickrun.ini" on XP or notepad "%USERPROFILE%\AppData\Roaming\Slickrun\slickrun.ini" on Vista or later.
  3> Scroll down to the [Jot] section
  4> Edit “BringUpJotKey” to be the ASCII value of the desired letter
  5> Edit “BringUpJotModifier” if desired.  You can change the Modifier to something other than 8 (E.g. ALT = 1, CONTROL = 2, CTRL+ALT = 3, WINKEY=8)
MS has never really tried to "kill" SlickRun (Keep in mind that I worked there for 12 years) -- although it's true that with Win8 they're trying to get folks off of the Desktop which is yielding mixed results.
You can rebind the JOT key using the steps discussed in the Help file; a future update will do this automatically when running on Win8.
Binding back to WinQ has proven to be near-impossible. I had this going in a hacky way for a while earlier last year but it turned out to cause the Metro Start Screen to lose its marbles and lock up for a minute or more.
I love SlickRun and was angry at MS for trying to kill it (and steal its ideas but not as well IMHO) in Win 8 :( Things I'd like to see in the next version -
Add option in Setup to rebind the Jot hotkey (same goes for MezerTools bindings).
In Win8, the slickrun bar moves every time its used (even with the lock position option checked).
In an ideal world be able to bind it to Win-Q again but I guess this isn't possible :( I have it as Alt-Q which works ok but hard to break the old Win-Q habit :).
If you're requesting suggestions on what should be added, I'll repeat an earlier request. :) I'd love to be able to sort by Filename on the Library tab. I have a bunch of MagicWords that utilize different executables in different ways and it would be helpful to sort by the filename so I can quickly identify other MagicWords already using the .exe I'm configuring and look at the syntax.
It's been said many times before, but can never be said enough: SlickRun is an AWESOME tool!
Suggestions? Sure
1. A version for Win8 x64
2. A way to select and delete all existing shortcuts or install SR without any shortcuts pre-installed so I'm not deleting them all before importing my own commands. Or at least an option in the installer to select an import file for commands.
3. Perhaps a pop-up that says if an existing shortcut doesn't work because the app is no longer there.
4. Some sort of visual cue that it is running as an admin rather than a standard user - this has caught me out a few times.
Oh, and I forgot to mention a more blue sky request with some sort of autohotkey integration.
