I hope everyone is ready for a big crowd at the SJ meeting tomorrow night!  Someone mentioned starting a new group that meets every week in Menlo Park.  I talked to a lot of people at the Maker Faire [including us] who would be more inclined to go to a closer location.  Is there anyone interested in getting that going?  If so, maybe we could pitch it tomorrow to see if there is any interest?  Do we need someone who is a member at Menlo Park or is the membership good at all locations?  What if we tried it on Tues nights for a few weeks, could I get any of the 3D printer masters to come and get things rolling?

Lori,

I would love to get the group meeting up in MP more often. However,
almost every time I look at the calendar, the rooms at TechShop MP are
booked.

I will have a chat with them and try to figure out a way we might be
able to have a regular meetup here.

The alternative is to find another venue. Community center or
school/church multipurpose room.

+1 to having a Menlo Park meeting, especially on Tuesdays.  I would come.

Tim:

Keep me posted about MP TechShop.  If that won't work, I will try to find another venue.

I'm in Sunnyvale, so I would go to either location.

Guys... Hacker Dojo! I have been spending some time at their new location and it's pretty excellent. Lots of space, easy to get to, and not as far north as MP for people who live closer to san jose. Plus you'll naturally find curious people - more so than the people at Techshop who have some project to finish. Plus soldering equipment anyone can use, etc.

Hacker Dojo is easy for me.
Feeping creaturism makes me want to ask them to put in a laser cutter, etc. etc. etc.... but then they're TechShop

They'd like a laser cutter, and they would be happy if they had more overlap with techshop as that means more reason to pay them monthly and not techshop. Just not sure they have the money for a laser cutter.

I haven't made it to a meeting since 2010, but I'd like to start.  Either location is good for me.
