Hi all--
My wife and I often play together at historical sites. Today we performed in a 19th Century log cabin. We were asked to set up about six feet in front of the hearth in a room that had a lively fire going in the fireplace. (The room was pretty small, so moving farther away was not an option.) I was afraid of possible damage to my bass from the heat of the fire a scant two yards away, so I asked that we be located in another room. Was I right to be concerned? Could the heat have melted glue or caused other problems? Or was I being overly cautious?
