Dear Mary,
*INVITATION TO APPLY TO PRESENT AT*
*THE WISCONSIN EARLY STAGE SYMPOSIUM*
*/NOV. 5-6, 2008, Madison, Wis./*//
The producers of the Wisconsin Early Stage Symposium are looking for
cutting-edge companies from Wisconsin and the Upper Midwest to present
at our Nov. 5-6 conference at the Monona Terrace Community & Convention
Center in Madison, Wis.
On behalf of the Wisconsin Technology Council, the Wisconsin Angel
Network, the Wisconsin Innovation Network and its partners, we invite
you to apply OR nominate companies that will be a good match with the
private investors who will attend this productive and informative
event. At the 2007 symposium, 47 angel or venture capitalists from five
states attended.
Like the 2007 conference, this year's conference is open to early stage
companies representing an array of industries: biotechnology, biofuels
and products, "cleantech," advanced manufacturing, information
technology, nanotechnology and business services. There are two
separate presentation levels:
1. About 20 early stage companies seeking capital in the range of
$500,000 and up will be selected to make seven-minute
presentations to investors in the Wisconsin Angel Network track.
*(Please see below on how to apply.)* These company presentations
will take place the afternoon of WEDNESDAY, NOV. 5.
2. About 15 companies will be selected for the Elevator Pitch
Olympics. In past years, these have been companies seeking a
smaller investment round (less than $500,000) or planning to do so
within the next year. All presenters will make 90-second pitches
to a panel of investors. The Elevator Pitch Olympics will take
place THURSDAY, NOV. 6.
*SEE PAGE 2 FOR REGISTRATION & APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS*
Companies pay no fee to apply or to present. However, companies must
first register to attend the conference in order to be considered by our
steering committee for a presentation slot.
Companies may apply for the Wisconsin Angel Network track or the
Elevator Pitch Olympics. The steering committee may elect to move some
companies into different tracks, depending on the development stage of
the company, the experience of the presenters and the overall company mix.
Hundreds of companies have participated in this conference over the
years, with a significant number obtaining financing. At last year's
conference, founders of one company reported raising $750,000 within an
hour of their presentation! Please join us Nov. 5-6 for one of the
nation's premier early stage conferences.
Sincerely,
STILL%20signature

Wisconsin Technology Council
*Here's how to apply for the November 5-6 Conference*
The annual Wisconsin Early Stage Symposium gives selected Wisconsin
companies the opportunity to make presentations and meet with
investors. For many firms, participation in the conference has been a
key factor for significant growth. Companies selected for the WAN track
will have many opportunities to interest investors: networking
receptions; a 7-minute presentation, an executive summary published in
the investor-only program, and an exhibit area where investors may speak
directly to presenting companies. Investors representing millions of
dollars in investment capital attend this event.
Companies selected for the WAN Track are invited to attend an
orientation session and participate in a pre-conference rehearsal.
