Just a special note to all the friends from the Barcamp community that
came out.. THANK you for the overwhelming response to the revival of
the new G33k D1nners. Without further adieu however... let's get you
started with everything you need to know about THIS month's upcoming
edition.
When: Feb 21st at 7pm- 10 (but if you want to stay later, Canter's is
24 hours and no one is stopping you)
Where: Canter's Deli
419 N Fairfax Ave
Los Angeles, CA 90036
Neighborhoods: Mid-City West, West Hollywood
Now that you've gorged out on all those candy hearts and chocolates,
come on out for some good cheer with your favorite geek or three at
the February edition of the G33k D1nner 2.0.
This month we are bringing the G33k back to one of it's original old
haunts on the west side- Canter's.. You know, it's that place where
you can sit and see everyone in LA if you stay long enough. Open 24
hrs. Huge menu. And booze? Oh yeah that'll be there too.
Last month's dinner featured geeks from all kinds of walks of life
including programmers, hosting aficionados, journalists, start up
cats, and much more. What kind of geeks will be at this event? Here's
hoping... it's YOU.
And for those who are new comers, here's a little bit about who we are
and why you should share in your awesome:
The "G33k d1nner" is a monthly gathering for geeks (dorks and nerds
too) where we gather to connect and reconnect. We talk about our
passions over bread and beer. Anyone is welcome to attend - as long as
you are genuinely passionate about technology. The "g33k d1nner" is
*not* a traditional networking event focused on dog& pony shows,
rather it aims to cultivate social and professional relationships and
the interchange of ideas.
Looking forward to seeing all of you there!
Cheers and all good things,
Jennifer Stavros
& Scott Kelly

Just a heads up - love the g33k dinner but I know both Syyn and Crashspace have regular Tuesday night meetings... that's a whole lot of g33ks to miss out on!

Well *ahem* I've lived at the Brewery for awhile and wasn't aware you
guys had things going on that night... You gotta let me know about
these things Doug. I think you should make it up to me with beers at
Barbaras.
And yes, the date will rotate as will the venue location. Now if Syn
or Crashspace ever want to have the dinner there sometime... THAT
might be something rad. *wink wink nudge nudge*

Day of the week rotation would be appreciated... I have great memories of early LA tech events - I founded Syyn with many of the peeps that I met at G33k dinners and BarCamps :) Good times!
PS - I could definitely see invading Barbara's one night with a whole lot of g33ky awesome.
