I would be interested in having some sort of press release I could
forward around. This could also make the life of bloggers easier by
using some of the paragraphs for their posts (I will be one).
Question is that should we have one or two PRs for BarCampBankSF and
BarCampBankNewEngland. We could also have paragraphs in common and a
specific part explaining the location and some examples of subjects we
plan we'll be discussed (fi-startups in SF, CUs in NewEngland?).
Do we have someone feeling creative about this who could upload a doc
on the group or even better share a Google docs with the entire group?

Would you have a press release available under something like a PDF
format? I'm starting to have people asking for something they can
forward around. It seems that a link to a web page (maybe not
http://barcamp.org/BarCampBankSF, some people are put off by wikis at
first sight) like a static page or a blog post could be a good first
step. But there seems to be situations as well where people would like
to move around documents (like a PDF again).
When communication is ready and you feel like the time is right, we
can create posting, blogging, email to create buzz around. My feeling
would be that early February could be a right time to start honing the
news. What do people think?
Cheers,
Frederic

I've attached the recently completed press release, so please feel free to post it/circulate it. It should be going up on NetBanker pretty soon.
Frederic, if you have the time to great a static page or blog that would be great. I'd be happy to contribute occasionally. Jason had mentioned using Crowdvine for participants to interact before the event, but I'm not sure if that allows you to create an event homepage.

Just to give us a feeling of timeframe: What date do you plan for the
actual presse release? This is just to know whom we can contact and
try having them on the PR. And when we will start contacting media
contacts with the final document.
Everything is turning so great. Thanks for all of this,
Frederic

I hadn't really thought of a specific date. We can just add to the press release if more organizations plan on attending. I think the document is pretty close to a final, but please feel free to suggest changes.

It would also be very cool if you mentioned near the bottom that there
will also be BarCampBank NewEngland being held the following week on
April 5 in Manchester, New Hampshire.
On twitter, there has been a little bit of discussion about "which
BarCampBank should I go to?" And some people are considering both. The
general consensus is that SF will be more tech/start-up oriented,
which I'm sure is true. I'm very sad that William Azaroff won't be
able to make either one. For NewEngland, I'm excited we have Geezeo,
and I just made a contact through Robbie Wright in Oregon to connect
with the Andera people in Providence RI. Hopefully Andera will come to
one or both.
