youre likely to be asked for it to book a venue.
we got lucky and could get ours through the council for the hall we
are in,(adelaide)
but just had a last minute problem with the mawson lakes event so
thought i'd mention it.

I was wondering about that just a few days ago. Will be calling the
venue to ask if we're covered already.
On a related note, I'm planning on running BarCampMelbourne through my
company in order to offer organisers limited liability. Can anyone think
of a reason that's a very bad idea?
I hate insurance!
