Hi folks,

My name is Alice Planas and I recently graduated from the Interactive Telecommunications Program at NYU.
I've been researching participant centered events and would love to meet with some
NYC area bar camp organizers to interview you about your experiences.

I'm collecting a bunch of research on ways people self-organize from various communities
(Burning Man, Un-conferences, Bar-camps, dorkbots, SHARE, Upgrade, etc.) and trying to
put together some useful ideas and best practices for people who put their energy into developing
self-sustaining structures.

Especially of interest to me is how people w/o access to computers could take some of these methods
and approaches.  Most of the communities currently working with the un-conference format rely heavily
on blogs and wikis.  I'm interested in seeing how people outside of the digital divide can access these
ways of collecting.

If any of you NYC peeps are on this list and would be willing to give some face-to-face time, please
contact me directly: alis...@gmail.com

thanks!!
alice

Alice,

Rather than sending a general message to the list, I'd suggest going
to the pages for the NYC Bar Camps and contacting the organizers
directly. (I'm on the list somewhere, but have since moved away from
NYC.)
