Sorry for the late reply (damn late, actually.)
It's now 5 weeks until the event date. I still couldn't find the venue
yet. I'm currently thinking about INET, but I don't know how much does
it cost and also will it be available on that date. Can somebody help
me regarding contact them and finding out how much it cost?
For the tag, let's use #tnwa :) I think it's short and easy to remember.
I think this event is normally just like the barcamp, I do like to
push people to speak up. However, the major difference is it doesn't
have the 'camp' in its name :) .. no no .. I mean there would be a
session that let people show off their stuff, also the time
arrangement would be somewhat flexible than the 'slot' thingie. I
won't do anything much fancy though ..
Each participant will allows to talk on the stage, have an open
discussion. I think the time slot for this event will be both pre-
assigned and on-site assign, or I would stick with pre-assign. It
depends though ..
See, the point of this event is
- I want new startups to be born.
- I want to see new ideas, even it's a semi-clone.
- I want all web developers to get together to share stuff (well .. I
know that TWA also done that .. but I want it in more 'informal' way.)
- I want to spread the word out to the world that Thailand has a good
resource on creating great web applications, i.e. 'we can do this!'
For sponsorship, I currently have only 1 sponsor, which I don't know
how much he would give me (lol ..) I would like to ask for sponsorship
though, mainly for the venue cost actually.
So, I can sum up that I need your help on:
- Helping me contact the venue, or finding me a venue.
- Finding sponsorship or being a sponsor :)
- Spread the word, please ..
I'll try to put up the site this week, with lots of information about
this event on it.
If anybody wants to chat with me about this event, just GTalk me:

INET is free for community/non-commercial purpose. Anyway, you need to
pay around B500 for maid on sunday to take care of place. Also the
meal cost if you want to provide.

I think this event is not really Barcamp style. It's not that everyone
coming and present their project. I suggest you need to individually
contact someone you know he is working on a webapp and want him to
talk. Broadcasting an invitation and expect cool guys you don't know
to show up on the day should not work for this case.
You can also allocate the free talk slot for Barcamp style as well,
but not pure free talk.

This is cool :) // How can I make a rsvp then if I want to use this
venue?

I'm thinking about invitation, yes. I want to have some main speaker
for this event, i.e. ones that making cool web apps, and I also wants
new cool guy to show up and speak too. So, there would be both fixed
slot and free slot. Thanks for your idea :)
I also would like to hear some suggestion also about how should I
arrange this event. I mean, I want it to be somewhat like FOWA but we
don't have that many web developers here.
New task:
- Writing invitation letter :)
- Writing PR

Too formal invitation letter is not ideal method as well. For geeks
who working on web 2.0, just personal IM or tweet is enough.
Why don't you list up 'people I want to hear' in this message and I
can help you on contacting (some of) them?
For me, Thai web apps I know and want to know more are:
- Covershare
- Birdnest
- Zickr
- Exteen (they are not niche anymore but always worth listening)
- MyFri3nd (I don't know the correct spelling, sorry)
Here's the list of website I would like to hear, which I can think of:
Zickr
Exteen
Duocore
Fukduk
iam.in.th
MyFri3nd
Blognone
Gotoknow
longdo (P'Hui)
Here are the ppl:
Sirn (http://www.hitoridake.com/)
pphetra (http://pphetra.blogspot.com/)
I also agree about website on your list too :)
Let's wait sugree for this question.
I want to add
- rssthai
- numerous Blog hosting services (storythai, diaryis, exteen, gotoknow, nation?)
- numerous Digg-like services (zickr, kudd, seedang, siamcollective, ...)
- numerous Internet TV (fukduk, iamthai, ...) note: ask Kla Duocore
for this info
- How about (traditional) TV on web? e.g. Maxxnettv.tv? I think there are many
- GIS service (PointAsia) and any other Google Maps mashup?
- Kapook also provides Facebook and Twitter-like services. Should we
include them?
P.S. imo, Blognone is just web 1.0 news web site. I don't know any
2.0-app features
we might put them to three tracks, providing there are enough sessions
(if not, merged down. for example, merge coding and design to only one).
see below listing for a proposal.
question:
as Prem, the initiator, declared before,
this nextwebapps event gonna be more 'designed' than BarCamp.
a question is, does the organizer like to balance the topics, or just
let everything goes ?
say, extreme case, does it's ok to have 10 Joomla sessions out of 12 ?

Three proposed tracks (based on topics on
http://sikachu.com/thailand-next-web-apps/ )

fyi, INET has 4 rooms:
* two small meeting rooms of the same size, with fixed table (10-15 ppl ?)
* one lage meeting room, with fixed table (30-40 ppl ?)
* one large function room (50-70 ppl ?)
(somebody pls confirm the capacity)
the reservation area at front also has some space for
registration/organization things.
Feel free to use Blognone wiki if you want. My advise is free wiki
service (PBWiki, SocialText, Wikia) is enough. No need to setup yet
another new wiki engine. It'll be difficult to maintain in long term.
Air condition is from central unit (except the biggest room, which has
its own engine). To have air condition on weekend, you need to file
some documents to security/control room in advance.

It's harder than air condition since the parking use magnetic card
system. Nearly impossible. You can pay individually but the price is
scary as well.
Oh crap ..Can we pay them to turn on air con? :) well .. i think at least 3 rooms would be sufficient (but .. it's some kind of too small ??)
And for no parking lot: now that's the crappiest thing! How should I deal with that then? Paying Thai-Summit for parking space? ..
How did ppl get to Drupal Camp in the last time?

I think if just filling the form then I would be fine with it, I can
do it when it get close to the event. Will it cost anything for it?
I know that there's a big room, but I also would like to make sure
that there's room for sessions to spread. 2 would be enough, but 3 is
optimal size, so I can spread the sessions :)

I think I can remember the price, as I went to fix a server there
once .. but I think I got INET to stamped my card? I'm not sure ..
Anyway, @bact said about parking at MRT. I didn't know that Thai-
Summit is near MRT station! If so, then MRT is the ideal solution :)

For the question about sponsor, it just that I think this event and
Google is targeting the same field. Google is a huge multi-platform
company, including web. This event is targeting on web development and
web startups. So it just my though that Google would help us and
sponsor this event. Also, it will be my pleasure too if there's a
speaker from Google (or Google Thailand) come and talk about how
Google's doing in Thailand. I would like to hear from them too, since
we use their service everyday. I think I can premier their talk,
really :)
I'll post more detail about the budget soon. :)

let say it's in a walking distance.
I think you need to do that in the name of INET.

That means INET pays for you since you're INET customer.
Ahh .. so who would be the person that I need to contact? Can you help
me out? T____T
I'm setting up a new wiki at http://nextwebapps.pbwiki.com. I already
sent invites to mk, sugree and kengggg. Hope you guys can help me
filling things up :)
Still waiting for information about the air-con. :)
Also, since we have a wiki now, I would like to do a logo contest! The
idea of logo is open, and I think I would open it to the public :)
See u on the wiki

I just ask K.Kan for this. Waiting for his reply.

I think you may miss the point. This kind of event is volunteer-ing.
- T-shirt is not necessary thing and in consequence, people can 'buy'
it (as same as when you go to concert).
- Food is quite the same thing. We spare our money for our lunch
everyday, why not this day as well? For free event, participants can
find food by their own in nearby area.
My point is, providing these things with no cost is a plus but nor
essential. Find the money first then decide which to spend later. The
issue you should concentrate is the program and content.
Yes.

No one work on the IT floor on week end. I strongly recommend you to
go on weekday.
Please contact K.Kan and you should get almost everything.
Sorry that I open a new thread, but want to separate those stuff apart
from the last thread. I just want to ask about a place where we can
have dinner after the event. I don't know a good place near that Thai
Summit building, so I would like to open it as free discussion ..
Also, if we have some money left over from the sponsor, we would like
to pay for this too (but .. I don't think we will have more than 1k
left .. so be warned :))
BTW, i don't drink .. so maybe avoid pub/bar? :P ..
I would suggest Family Pork BBQ, but then what do u guys think?
