Sorry for keeping an uncharacteristically low profile -- I am actually
in Wisconsin on vacation duty. While I was not checking my email, I
received an invitation from Paul Podraza (Hi Paul!), Media Director at
Mountaintop Church, to use the church as the location for the main
BarCamp event. Whatcha guys think?

I love the idea - it's safe, central location, plenty of bathrooms, air conditioning ;)

I think it is off of 31 in Vestavia, up behind Chuck-E-Cheese, right? Wait...did I just come up with the best lunch outing ever?

Sounds like a great idea!

So very Bible Belt to hold "Bar"camp in a church :)

I like this idea quite a bit, too. Now that I am back in town, maybe
we could do a quick scouting trip to look-see?

Sounds good to me. Can we eat at Chuck -e-Cheese afterwards?

Surely, unless you want to eat with me. My son just got a bad virus
from that germ pit, and only under extreme diress would I set my foot
in this fine establishment.

I guess the obvious has already been considered but just in case ... do they have a high speed internet connection?

I haven't checked -- I just assumed that they do :)

As long as they have some way of having a LAN connection in/around the meeting places, we could get WiFi set up.

Hey BarCamp people! I'm the Media Director at Mountaintop, and I'm glad
that you guys are considering coming here for the Saturday event.

We do have a T-1 with wireless already setup in the couple of places we
could meet here at the church.

We have a large atrium area which has lots of windows, or we have a
couple of rooms which can be dark, and has projection screens for
powerpoint or whatever you want to run

If you guys want to plan a outing to scout the location, your welcome
to come up at lunch time next week, Monday July 24, or Wednesday the
26th would be best. I'm here all through the week, so if you want to
come up at a different time, you could do that too.

We are located up behind Chuck E. Cheese, and I don't think anyone's
gotten a bad virus by coming here. ;)

I could even shoot some video of the friday and staurday event so that
we can give the other BarCamp people some idea as to how crazy we are
in the Southern US.

Let me know if you guys have any other questions! I look forward to
meeting you!

I'd say this is a very appealing prospect. Especially one who is so willing to help us out. Thanks in advance, Paul.
