From the various posts that have come up in social media since 2010, it can be said that officers associations are the real enemy of pensioners. They always played a dubious role and deceived poor pensioners.

It appears that constituents within ufbu have started  expressing their dissatisfactions over the delay in signing bps agreements.

If UFBU demand of 5 day Banking is genuine they should  seek appointment with FM and take a delegation to sort out
5 day Banking
Pension to resignees which is pending for 4 months.
This will resolve the issues.
Each constituent of UFBU writing letters is delaying tactics. This will also help implement Ex gratia early.

Though I am not concerned, in my opinion 5 day banking demand is not genuine ! I am sorry that UFBU is giving more importance to it than pension updation of bank retirees !

5 day banking should not be allowed. In fact they should cancel the present holiday of 2nd and 4th Saturday of the month. In case of RBI LIC, general public don't go to them. In case of banking general public use banking services on Saturdays also.

Dear colleagues,
If the Govt feels two consecutive holidays will increase long weekends and consequent leave availed by staff which adversely affects the branch working, may consider Wednesday or Thursday as  modified, which previously declared as non banking working days in rural branches.

5 day banking is a bigger issue created by UFBU people.30years back just giving computer allowance (almost ex-gratia component) the bank chiefs compelled the unions on digitisation. Now that fulfilled the staff reduction. Still with universal banking insurance component required canvassers and extra work.Labour class has got hoodwinked by the managements. To add further Modi introduced JAM extracting more work from bankers. Now at this stage knowing all these and showing a wry face by the unions of working staff towards pensioners needs is atrocious. All of us must remember that 5 day banking is a residual issue from 11 th bps.Why iba took more than 5 years to settle that issue and put up the same to govt at the time of signing the 12 th bps?We find fault with unions because our benefits are delayed. But unions are right if they even call for strike to achieve this demand.

1. UFBU is divided on the 5 day Banking issue
2. Unions are issuing circulars accusing each other.
3. After 25 years for the first time some improvement in pension is offerred.
4. Pre 2002 pensioners who are aged above 70 years have accepted Ex gratia and are eagerly awaiting
    implementation of the same.
5. Retiree associations are not interested in Ex gratia.
6. MOU dated 07.12.23 will expire on 06.06.2024  After that offer of 17.5% wage revision  and offer of ex gratia will become invalid.
7. No constituent of UFBU is worried about the fate of Ex gratia.

They cannot go on strike. It is liiegal. They have signed MOU accepting terms and conditions of offer which has validity till 06.06.24. Before that they cannot go on strike.

This is the area which our associations are to be vigilant .All our associations are found wanting and they keep themselves away from bargaining unions.
