As I have written in the mail, the arrear was paid during August 2009
itself. But as you have mentioned, I feel that I was not lucky, in as
much as the amount paid was legally due to me and it has been paid
after a prolonged battle in the court and without any interest, after
a lapse of 8 years.
As a banker , you may well aware that the amount paid attracts
reasonable interest say 12%p.a. prevailing at that time of my
retirement. As it is a monthly payment as for as pension arrears and
Fixed payment as regards to commutation arrears, I have lost almost
Rs.1,50,000/- for the 8 year lapse.
Considering the incapacity of our associations, and the inhumane
nature of bank management, we feel that we are lucky even if a legally
due amount is paid after a tussle. If the present trend of the IBA and
UFBU continue, the day may not be far off that we may consider lucky
even if our pension is paid monthly.
If any bank is not paying, it is a contempt court.
