As per available information, following Banks have already commenced
payment of Arrears of Pension/Pension. .

1.Andhra Bank
2.Bank of India
3.Bank of Baroda
4.Corporation Bank
5.Canara Bank
6.Indian Bank
7.Indian Overseas Bank.
8.Oriental Bank of Commerce
9.Punjab National Bank
10.Syndicate Bank
11.State Bank of Bikanir & Jaipur.
12.Union Bank of India

May be few more Banks' name also can be added to the list during
this month. What ever it may be,the fact remains that more than
fifty per cent of PSBs are yet to commence the payment of arrears of
Pension/Regular pension so far.IBA issued the circular on 10th Aug
2010 and 90 days period for refund is already over in all banks.

Incidently or otherwise the banks which have shown consideration
towards retirees request on netting of commutation and arrears
towards the refund have found place in the list.Role of officers' /
Retirees Associations in such banks were also to be seen as good
gesture.

We have also seen where ever it is commenced, it has not yet fully
completed cent percent. In some Banks fixation of Basic Pension itself
has not done so far. Demand and refund etc made on the basis of
approximate pension amount! In some cases arrears of pension have been
paid but regular pension payment has not yet commenced. It happened
vice versa also.In some other cases no information/communication has
been passed on to retirees on on fate of papers submitted by them or
refund made.(some of them managed to refund the amount on time with
borrowed fund)
Every one of us can very well understand the anxieties expressed by
affected retirees of different banks through this forum and
elsewhere.
However Bank managements have their own stories to tell and answers/
reasons for the delay!

Instead of going for research and debate on delay let the Bank
managements speed up the process of implementing Pension Payment in
all Banks, considering the same as 'One Time Process' and try to
mitigate the anxieties/constraints of senior citizens, those who
were also, part and parcel of the Banking system hitherto.
