Hi Chandramouli,

I would suggest that you look at HTML5 <canvas> [1]. If it would take
another year or so for you to release your product, I would definitely
suggest that. Chrome and Firefox support canvas already. As far as IE
users is concerned, they are moving towards canvas and even if they do
not, there is always google chrome frame.

Please do not go the Flex way. Although flex gives you the ability to
run immediately on all browsers, the cost that you pay in terms of the
UI clunkiness is crazy. For example, once a flash control takes focus,
it does not bubble events back to the browser. Stuff like back button
and front button, switching to the address bar do not work anymore.
Right click pops up an ugly menu that does not fit in with the style
of the app.

Besides, most of the users that you are targeting already have firefox
or chrome for their use. I think that for an app that is so
specialized you can stick to standards and discount IE support.
Besides people have implemented games like skifree over lunch with
canvas. [2]
