We have one option in Indiranagar ( http://x.c42.in/c42office ) and
one at Bannerghatta Road ( http://bit.ly/gz7Zc0 ). Just send in a mail
saying 'I prefer Indiranagar' or 'I prefer Bannerghatta road.'
Thanks,
Sidu.

I can talk about TLB (http://test-load-balancer.github.com/). It is a
BSD licenced tool that can balance Test::Unit, RSpec-1.x or RSpec-2.x
suites across multiple machines, hence helps cut build time.

Did the meeting take place yesterday or it is going to happen today?

Hi All,
Just remembering what we discussed for benefit of all…
1. Thoughtworks guys pavan and janmejay gave a presentation on the tool used for loadbalancing testing… they call it Test Load Balancer (
http://github.com/test-load-balancer). The presentation was nice and gave many insights to rest of us
2. We did discuss about Mail-Chimp Problem raised by Pradeep (there is a separate thread for this problem)
3. Satish (Myself) raised the age old problem of how to make use of Inheritance (without using STI) to solve Active record based Models involving inheritance. Some suggestions were
1. Get out of Mysql and move to graphdb/mongodb kind of system
2. Try writing routines to generate tables dynamically and reload them into the system (Quite Interesting Hmm…..)
3. If want to use mysql, then try storing the data as string/text, along with the field type, so that when data is being rendered, it will be type converted before display
4. We discussed about problems of active resource presenting the data as HTTPobject and Hashes inconsistently and many of us had to write patches to a code
5. A discussion has started to host bangaloreRUG group member’s open source contribution. BangaloreRug to think about having its own github account
6. Initial discussion was made to understand when this year’s RailsConference would be held.
7. Sidu raised a request of if any body had worked on Caching on the client’s end for REST calls
I think these were what I remember…the meeting did go on for about 2 hrs time.
Thanks and Regards

hi,
What is point 3.2 - "Try writing routines to generate tables dynamically and reload them into the system", What is the dynamic part? is there a standard implementation for this?
Also. please post any conclusions from the meeting or links to good blogs, code discussed etc.
cheers,
deepak
