I posted an ad a few days back to sell off my bike. But I am having conflicting thoughts now.

I was thinking, if someone can carry my bike to NY (I don't need to sell it then). I can arrange for it to be picked up there by a friend.
Anyone planning to go to NY in coming months, who would be willing to carry my bike as luggage? :)

Any help or suggestions welcome.
Btw, how much will it cost me if I carry the bike as extra baggage. I have a Trek 4300D.

Thanks,
Varun

Not worth it - pick up a decent second hand one off craigslist there!

Great! I'm looking to buy one for a friend actually!

That apart, I too wanted to take my bike with me to the US so Rohan why's it such a bad idea? Do I need to think of selling it too then? Just could not do that.

Well, its kinda expensive right.
Plus you have the opportunity to buy a good second hand bike there for real cheap.

Not if co. is paying for relocation. But if one is burning one's own savings or dad's hard earned money... yeah, do think few times :-)

That, I guess is a bigger / better motivation. And wasn't there this list member, who assembled his own cycle with good quality parts, as part of community service (of some kind).
