Hi,
I was thinking of changing the platform pedals of my Bianchi Spillo
Quarzo hybrid to clipless.
I use my bike primarily for daily commute (15km one way) and for
weekend recreational rides/exercise.
I thought clipless pedals might help to improve my cadence, speed &
fitness.
After doing a bit of research, I felt that SPD clipless pedals for MTB
is the way to go. I saw that Track and Trail has one-sided clipless
pedals, priced at Rs. 1200/-, which I thought might be ideal for my
use.
However, I am not sure if a two-sided clipless will be better than a
one-sided one for my purpose.
Neither T&T nor Wheelsports have in stock SPD compatiable MTB shoes of
size 46. Naveen (Wheelsports) told me that he will be able to get me
a Shimano shoe (priced around Rs. 5000/-) in a months time if I order
for the same.In Decathlon, I saw some rockrider shoes (BTwin) of size
47, which fits me very well. (

Shoes-8-XC-CYCLING-SHOES-p-572.html?

(after 47% discount!) I would like to know if anyone has used these
shoes and their comments on how good/bad are they.
The one sided clipless pedals + the Rockrider shoes fit my budget well
(Rs. 5000/- in total). But if they are crap, I would rather wait till
I can extend my budget.
OR,
Is it worthless upgrading to clipless on a hybrid? Should I just shut
up and keep quite till I own a road bike :-)
Regards,
Dileep
