Hi Ppl,

Of late my Sigma BC1106 DTS bike computer has been conking out while riding. It just shows 0.0 on the speedo and comes back on after a few minutes. Most of the times, it fails to connect to the transmitter after its mounted (0.0 keeps blinking, even when bike is in motion). Could it be that the batteries are running low? I checked the transmitter unit's battery (there is a button on it, which lights up a small green LED) and it seems ok. I dont know how much does a set of CR2032s last on this thing. I have been using this set of batteres for almost 10 months now. Is it time to change the batteries, or is it some known issue with the computer itself?

Regards,
Prashant

HI Prashant,
I use the same Bike computer. It seems the computer is not receiving the signal properly.

1)Have you assemble the computer on the same side where the transmitter is?
2) How close is the magnet to the transmitter? more closure, better the count.

It should  be in the range of 30 degrees of the transmitter center.
Batteries need to be changed every 10-12 months.

Highlighted one should be main reason.Change battery in the transmitter.

Thanks for the quick confirmation Deepak.

Yes, I have installed the computer exactly according to the user manual and it was working fine uptil now. A month back, the receiver unit had taken a fall when I was trying to unmount and mount it again while riding, thats why I was suspecting a possible malfunction.

But now that you say the batteries need a replacement every 10-12 months, I guess its a battery issue. I'll buy a new pair today.

Thanks again :)

And now that you mentioned that you use the exact same product, do you also face issues like the trip meter/clock getting reset by itself?

Please use a Plastic cable tag to mount the transmitter  & Receiver bracket.
Don't rely on just the Rubber bands. Will try to take  image & send it to you.

I think I must have dropped the computer n number of times & its working fine.
They would definitely designed for rugged usage.

Yeah, that would be good. I too was wondering how long the rubber bands would hold in Indian weather conditions. Images would surely help.
