Japanese co starts India operations
NEW DELHI: Japan-based speciality chemical company Kuraray has launched its India operations and announced plans to set up its manufacturing unit to meet its increasing sales volumes in the country.
“Though our products have been available in India, we want to consolidate our position and push sales in the country through a full-fledged sales office in Delhi,” said Kuraray President Fumio Ito.
Mr. Ito said, “We have established a wholly-owned subsidiary in India in response to growing demands for our products in the fast developing Indian economy.”
Production unit
On the future plans, Mr. Ito said the company’s speciality products would add value to various sectors in India, particularly automotive and construction industries. “Besides leading products, we will introduce eco-friendly and innovative offering which includes products that are perfect replacement of natural rubber and asbestos. And once we are able to increase our sales, we also plan to set up a production plant in India,” he added.
According to Kuraray India Pvt. Ltd. Managing Director Shinichi Sato, “Apart from individual business prospect, our India operations will prove to be economically beneficial for both India as well as Japan and strengthen our relations by opening more business avenues for India.”
