Catcher Movie

So what do you all think about a Catcher movie? Filmable? Not
filmable? How would you film it? Who could play Holden?

Hi Chris; Easily filmable because it is set in the television age. The
actor for Holden should be a brilliant unknown who can represent everyone of

DiCaprio would have made a great Holden when he was that age.  Not sure who could do it now... yep, an unknown might be best.

I think it's definitely unfilmable, but that's rarely stopped people from trying. It might be interesting, if nothing else.

Among the many things I hope we get in the Salinger Vault I hope one of them is a letter confessing that his real objection to the Catcher movie is that he simply can't bear to see a paperback edition with movie tie-in cover art.
