Dear bamboo lovers
INBAR has demonstrated showcase engineered bamboo houses in Kenya and Uganda with the funding support from IDRC Canada. The engineered bamboo constructions were done in collaboration with Advanced Bamboo and Timber Technology, China (ABTT, principle scientist Prof Yan Xiao). We collaborated with Mekerere University in Uganda and Maseno University in Kenya to implement the project. The building has received a lot of attentions in the project countries and has shown the example on what can do with bamboo. A couple of pictures taken in Kenya are attached here. I am feeling happy to be the manager of the project.

Dear Shyam,
Congratulations for managering the successful contruction of the bamboo demostrated houses in Kenya and Uganda.
Would you be able to share with me how much each unit or house cost to construct.
As you may know, i am working to have a similier colaboration with the Architectural
department at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology in Ghana. However,the question has always been the cost estimate. Can you provide some estimated figures?
