At first I was skeptical, but then noticed the founder was a (the?) hardware manager for iPhone from versions 1 through 4. He's got experience.

The pricing is tiny for an "ARM Cortex M3 SoC with embedded WiFi" [1] and the dev kits are super cheap too. I think they're trying to put it in the hands of as many hardware hackers as possible, which is cool. 

Putting a hardware project on WiFi is 100x more attractive than patching an Arduino through a dedicated computer and about 100x cheaper. I'm more excited about this than ninja blocks or the twine.
