Just announced today, we're looking at the new three dimensional printer from some company calling themselves Makerbot. I'm not sure they're even a real company because it seems they don't even have a site up at www.makerbot.com but adafruit has a video: http://www.adafruit.com/blog/2012/01/09/introducing-the-makerbot-replicator%E2%84%A2/ so maybe it's legit...
Claims talk about a 9x6x6 inch build volume, two extruder heads for multiple materials, an in machine menu with butons, and it comes fully assembled, for $2000. I've got $500, john said he'd put in $100 and mike said $100 too. Anyone else?

Sweet, so that brings us up to $900. It'll be great to see you around more. For anyone else I confused by being sarcastic, besides Blaze, yes Makebot is real. :) We have the finicky Makerbot Cupcake. While I know it hasn't gotten much use by many members, I do feel that it's because of the wonkyness of the design of the machine and how much effort it takes to get something to print right. Marty speaks wonders of his thing-o-matic, and this new one is better in every way. I'm sure it will get more use since its better, and more stable.
$1000. I'm not sure if we could sell it... maybe we'd get $300? Who knows.

I’ve been lurking for a bit since I joined last summer, but I’d also be interested in buying it for personal use – although I’d rather another group have dibs before you pass the offer to me.
