Hi everyone,
Mike, John, and I were running Angry Birds at the
US Science and
Engineering festival today. We have good news and bad news:
Good News: Angry birds was a BIG hit. We one of the largest crowds
out of all of the booths I saw. I heard other parents talking about
our booth, and I had parents tell me we had the _only_ booth that
their kid wanted to see. Kids were teaching physics to one
another. We introduced hackerspaces to about 50-100 parents.
Bad News: We had a huge 30-60 minute line from 10am - 6pm. This
means absolutely no breaks, because some poor 5 year old has been
waiting patiently for almost an hour to have his turn. The exhibit
takes a minimum of 3 people to run (one to grab the birds, one to
hold the slingshot, and one to rest/prevent anarchy.) With only 3
of us, we were nearly overwhelmed.
I can't help tomorrow, so I don't know what John and Mike are going
to do. If you can spare part of your Sunday, they desperately need
the help. I promise that you'll have a lot of fun-- the festival
was extremely interesting.
Rob
