The 7th track on the new album, “Last Train to Kittyhawk” is an
original composition written by guitar player Caleb Smith. This song
is entitled “Jack Diamond”. This is a ballad type song that takes
place somewhere in the old west. It is written from a poor farmers
perspective that has been driven off his land by wealthy men that
would not take no for an answer. It all starts really from the end
describing the blazing re-entry of Jack to take vengeance on the men
who murdered his family and drove him out of town.
“The idea of this song actually came from a jam session with my
uncle, Mark Stevenson. We were just messing around with some chords
and we came up with the first few lines and then moved on to something
else. Ten years later I rediscovered those few lines and decided
finish the song. Everyone does a great job of giving the tune an eerie
revengeful feel. From the instrumentation to the superb vocals by
Buddy and Tim.”
