Guys,

Let's meet! I'm very sorry that I failed to organize a meeting earlier (I really wanted to meet in December), so I'll try to make it up to you by preparing something interesting for the one of the oncoming meetings.

The suggestion is to have a meeting at Engine Yard:

Engine Yard
500 Third Street, Suite 510
San Francisco, CA 94107

There's parking available close to this place: http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geocode=&q=San+Francisco,+CA&sll=37.0625,-95.677068&sspn=53.696917,82.353516&ie=UTF8&hq=&hnear=San+Francisco,+California&ll=37.781902,-122.396091&spn=0.001654,0.002513&z=19&layer=c&cbll=37.781972,-122.396097&panoid=sUmF9oqqq0R6UCSt7XPSVg&cbp=12,284.51,,0,2.89

I suggest meeting somewhere between 18th and 29th. Particularly, I suggest meeting on one of these days at 7pm: 20 (Wed), 21 (Thu), 27 (Wed), 28 (Thu), however I'm not sure if there are some clashes with other user groups meetings on these days. Tuesdays are the SVPG meetings where I'm trying to be present, and I don't have any specific objections to the other days.

Speaking of topics:
I'd like to have two topics covered during a meeting, with each "presentation" taking about 45min-1hr (maybe a little more) with discussion. It may make sense to have one topic taking longer, the other shorter.

I remember that Vlad Patryshev wanted to show a comonad sample, and Evan Laforge had some project to show. If you guys are up to that, that would be great!

Cheers,
Ivan

The 20th is Bay Categories & Types, where a few of us, including Vlad, are
likely to be. Maybe the 20th is better?

Anyway, I'm still down for a talk. From previous experience my talks
always take longer than I think they will, and there's a lot of
material, so maybe the other talk should go first to make sure it
doesn't get squeezed.

Any of those days would be fine with me. The 18th is a holiday, maybe
that would be convenient?

You probably mean anything except 1/20, right? (I agree if yes.)

I'm sorry, of course I forgot about BACAT on 20th.

Not sure if we can host it at Engine Yard on holiday. (BTW, what holiday is that on 18th?)

Martin Luther King Day, according to my calendar. I get that day off
so it would be a little more convenient for me, dunno about others.
Other days should be fine too though.

I don't know if this is a good thread to vote, but personally I'm okay with doing it on MLK - and by the way, it is only government offices that are closed on MLK day, no?

MLK day is fine as far as EY is concerned.

Could we please have the meeting after working hours? It would be
much appreciated. :)

That's the plan (unless the start at 7pm is not after working hours for you).

Spent some time figuring out the "unless is not after" predicate.
