Dear all,
There will be another Bagshot Jubilee Street Party meeting at 6pm on Tuesday 29th May at The Three Mariners if you are interested in finding out what will be happening and how you can help! All welcome
If you have volunteered to help in any way, I have tried to write to you separately but I keep being distracted - so.....
We are starting to set up the street from approx. 7am on Sunday 3rd June.
This will include making up stalls, hanging bunting and flags at low levels and (maybe a few at higher levels using ladders if the weather is ok), putting up a few signs, rubbish bags etc. We will try to do as much as we can before the road is closed at 11am , (although we may close the lower part of the High Street early if all the parked cars are out of the way!)
After the road is closed at approx. 11am - all the stalls need to be moved onto the road, tables and chairs put out and generally making the street look good. We are going to try to make some of the empty shop windows look more attractive. The stall holders will start to arrive and so some may need help in locating their stalls and moving goods from one place to another.
The event opens at 2pm - chaos will follow for the next few hours but you can enjoy the activities!
From approx. 5.30 the event will start winding down and the big tidy up will start at 6pm. We have an hour before the road has to be re-opened so things have to be moved to places of security. Some stall holders will need help dismantling stalls and removing any left overs, so if you can stay to help - please make yourself known to a person in a 'hi glo' waistcoat. There will be four people wearing one at any given time, hopefully telling people, which jobs need to be carried out.
The big question is .............
What time do you want to come?
How long can you stay?
Do you have a specific skill or equipment which maybe useful?
If you give me an approx time of arrival, I will let you know who to report to when you get there. Our 'Office' is going to be in Junk and Disorderly and key people should be wearing hi-glo waistcoats when on the street.
Kind regards
Tina Carney
