Parking at Fremont Ardenwood Park and Ride

I am looking at a commute route which has me parking at Ardenwood P&R and then taking the Dumbarton express. I am trying to determine how difficult it is to get a parking spot (without the $50 reserved spots) between 7-8am in the mornings during the weekday.

If anyone parks there, would you mind sharing your experiences on this topic? Also, is it relatively safe place to leave the car an entire day?
