My only gripe is the choice of color. It looks faded when the seats are
just installed. Something much darker would give seats the sense that they
are still new.

The new light green seats look new to me. I wish they weren't vinyl though;
I would have preferred some type of durable cloth seats. But the color is
fine. They don't look faded to me, but somewhat bright and cherry.

One thing I've noticed though is that the BART passenger cars with the new
seats and the linoleum floors are noticeably noisier than the old cars with
the old carpeting and cloth seats. Maybe BART ought to think about putting
some sound-deadening material on the ceiling of the BART cars with linoleum
flooring to help muffle the noise.

Even with the clickity-clack sound of the rail-joints, Caltrain passenger
cars (especially the Bombardier cars) are quieter than the BART cars with
linoleum flooring and vinyl seats.

They are vinyl because the cloth seats proved too hard to keep clean.

I have seen people throwing up on BART seats so anything that can be hosed
down is very welcomed.

I sat on a "new" seat last night and the seat was already lumpy. How heavy
does a person have to be in order to break the springs permanently?
