Viatology is the scientific study of roads. Using the scientific
method to measure, report, and distribute findings for the advancement
of knowledge in road-based transportation, one can lend experience and
facts to a field that was previously considered a leisurely hobby.
Though viatological studies are nothing new -- in fact they've been
around for centuries -- your continued contributions to this field
will help enable viatology to be offered in scholastic and research
foundations throughout the world.
If your goal is to discuss pavement types, road signage standards,
border crossings, highway upgrades, or even lighting that surrounds
the road, it's your independent studies and reports that will help the
field of viatology be taught in the educational realm.
For more information on viatology, including the etymology of the
term, please refer to http://wwtl.info/#viatology.html .
Cheers,
Carl Rogers

I still have my post from the last time Rogers posgted this
screed. I'll just copy it here isntead of having to do it all
over again:

Which says Rogers made it up.

It's Carl's "system" of English at work again. Remember that the V-
word comes from "via-" + "-ology" and he threw in a "t" to join them.
Well, now, he's trying to screw around with an established English
word, namely "zoology" (which is correctly pronounced ZO-ology, as ZOO-
ology would require a third 'o'). He's taking "zoo-" and "-ology" and
using a "t" to join them, to get "zootology". I suppose this means we
must now have "biatology" and "psychatology" and "sociatology" too.
Or, could it be that like the entire collected body of Carl's work,
this is nothing more than pure "scatology". You be the judge.
Personally, I think Cal's site is the epitome of SCATOLOGY.

Viatology (sic) is the study of equine excrement. That is because
viatologists (sic) are full of horseshit. What's it going to take to
get that through that thick fairy skull of yours?
RC
Carl flunks basic logic. If you're new to these newsgroups. odds are
you haven't yet come across the term viagralogy. But, if you've read
even two days-worth of posts, you've seen his explanatory post over
and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and
over and over and over and over and over and over again.
But who the hell is new to Usenet? That would be like being new to
vacuum tubes, new to phenolic plastic, new to shortwave listening, new
to eight-track tapes, new to quadrophonic LPs.
Actually, there is likely a whole host of young people who are new to
Usenet (and the rest of the Internet each day). In fact, I wonder if
modern baby books now include a page for "Baby's First Google". =P
Granted, if baby sees the dreaded Vitaminology site under question
here, it's like that she'll be scared (and scarred) by the 'net for
life.
I am really surprised that he is only spamming Usenet in promotion of his putrid
site and not using the other roads-related forums like the Yahoo groups, AA
Roads forum, etc., or joining and contributing there.

I'm a big fan of viatology and I support its further goals in academia
and you should too!

I suggest the field of viatology be taught in the Realm of Mordor,
instead.

I'm a big fan of St. Viator, and I support the furtherance of his cult
in academia, and you should too!
I look forward to the day where people can major in viatology at
Harvard and Yale. Also Stanford, the Harvard of the West. We could
have viatology institutes and think tanks!

Carl Rogers escaped from an institute, does that count?

Oh I mispledded institution.

He has replied at least a couple of times after getting his panties in a

Corrected your post for you. No need to thank me.

Thank you so much for your kind compliments about me and also making
thoughtful corrections to my post. You are so honorable and genuine.
But I do wish that more people had the entreprenurial spirit that Carl
has.
