Baritone Saxophonist Fil Lorenz led this evening's nonette's smokin'
gig! His selection of Basie charts was varied and beautifully paced.
Being Basie, of course everything was danceable from slow NiteClub
TwoStep through moderate tempo Swing and up-tempo Lindy to blazing
Balboa. And there were good dancers for 'em all.
Amnesia was packed with a very young and enthusiastic audience that
drove the musicians to not only play their best but also to appear to
have a lot of fun and maybe even get a decent amount of cash despite
the modest cover charge.
