Good spot for landscape painting/photog in Presidio?

My wife and I are interested in doing some landscape photography and
painting in the Presidio. Never having explored the area much, we wonder
if anyone could steer us to some favorite spots. We're not particularly
interested in postcard views such as the GG Bridge; rather in spots with
a peaceful rural feel. I know this is a pretty vague request, but any
help will be appreciated.
