Here's a little ad I found in a web search about her. For a volunteer
position, Ms. Giant "M" has listed quite a few "required" skills and
experiences. Seems to me like her vision of "philanthropy" involves
getting someone else to run her business, and write her (many) grant
applications, for free.

Gee, Mattison, don't you think you could shell out just a *little*
dough for your personal servant? For someone who thinks her stuff is
worth $30K a pop, you're not very generous *or* philanthropic.
And for working for free, I would think the job title would be a
little bit better than ASSISTANT Curator.
Kathy
PS, did anyone actually *take* this "job"?
:
I have paid several in the past from San Jose State but they could not
even file correctl, let alone work on organzed proposals, so this is posted
for the hearties to apply.
It is a wonderful scerrning process and since I did 5 internships exactly
the same way in college I figure what is good for me is good for them.
Those experience have enabled me to build a wonderful creative business
which you seem to be very envious of....
My philanthropy is proven in this valley and elsewhere in time, gifts,
and monetary forms and on a percentage basis blows most of the geeks out
of the water.
Again,
Thanks for the press!
Also, If I recall you alredy attended one of my receptions and were very
unsociable and rude. I suggest unless you can bring the manners I am
sure your mother taught you I would suggest you not show up as the
community is very private and the security can have you removed promptly.

Also if you notice it says something about grant writing. I figure idf
they want to be in the arts and become real artists not just posers like
most on the net, they are gonning to have to learn to create something
from nothing just like I did.
I started both my art and garden design
businesses on 600.00 and built it in four years with no loans or
help from anyone....
these kids who take the risk will learn the most valualbe lesson for
themselves and have a great position.
Infact at lucnh yesterday an attorney in SF who is a medium sized
collector in the area commented that he was in the home of a CIG and the
assembly line paintings made it hard for him to believe the CFO had a
clue. He also commented that he thought ..."Mattison you are one of the
top ten emerging artists in America and that you should own that...and
get out of that valley!"
I told him I love the little geekies and that they are fun to play with.
Are you wearing your kitty ears yet ? I love those furry ones.

Ooo, lessons on manners from Mattison "you all suck because you
aren't as artistic as I am" Fitzgerald.
Well, I'm just a geek, so I probably shouldn't be able to recognize
irony.

Takes one to know one, I always say.

... with taxpayers money.

I used to support the NEA and other public arts funding, until I
started reading about you. No kidding.
You have brought home to me the reality of what people are all about
who take grant money. They live off my work while they do their
meaningless, ugly "art", and make snotty cracks on the Internet about
the people who pay their way.
>I started both my art and garden design
>businesses on 600.00 and built it in four years with no loans or

...except the taxpayers of the US and the state of California.
Of course, those who take grant money usually look at it as "free
money", without a relationship to people's labor and the taxes they
pay.
(So is "M" Gallery a non-profit? I wouldn't be surprised to hear it.
Sometimes I think art and televangelism are the two biggest scams
around.)
>these kids who take the risk will learn the most valualbe lesson for
>themselves
Lesson one: If I ever think about becoming personal slave to a flaky
"art" chick ever again, shoot me first.
> and have a great position.
From what I've read lately, that would be the one with kneepads.
>Infact at lucnh yesterday an attorney
I sure hope he reads USENET and knows that you think attorneys (among
*many* others) are the scum of the earth.
> in SF who is a medium sized
>collector in the area commented that he was in the home of a CIG and the

You mean like your repetitively boring and amorphous slashes and
swirls, signifying (despite your pal James' assertions to the
contrary) nothing?
> made it hard for him to believe the CFO had a
>clue.
Sounds like a perfect new customer for "M" Gallery.
>He also commented that he thought ..."Mattison you are one of the
>top ten emerging artists in America and that you should own that..
Man, what a smooooooth line. Did he get some?
>.and
>get out of that valley!"
Yeah, and don't let the door hit you in the ass, either.
>I told him I love the little geekies and that they are fun to play with.
Attention Potential "M" Gallery Customers: This is what Mattison
FitzGerald, Artist, thinks of you. Surely you can spend your art
dollars elsewhere on someone who doesn't despise you.
>Thanks for the press!
This ain't "press", honey. This is you, blaring your bullhorn on
USENET to the world at large, and showing everyone what a twit you
are.
>Also, If I recall you alredy attended one of my receptions and were
>very unsociable and rude.
You really *are* delusional, aren't you? No, we have never met. I
have only had the opportunity to experience your special brand of
unsociable and rude behavior here on USENET.
> I suggest unless you can bring the manners I am
>sure your mother taught you
I plan to bring the same manners that you display regularly in this
newsgroup. You set such a wonderful example.
> I would suggest you not show up as the
>community is very private
Translation: Only those who suck up to me and those I suck up to
will be there.
> and the security can have you removed promptly.
Not if I remove my checkbook from my purse first and wave it around to
entice you.
