In addition to other problems I've had with Hells Fargo is the amount of
time it takes to clear deposits made thru their Automatic tellers.

My payroll check is drawn on a Wells Fargo account located in the branch
in which I keep my account. I knew that it took some time to clear if
you make a deposit after 5pm to a teller, and normally this is not a
problem. However, a couple of weeks ago(when I decided to dump the bums-
before I got the now-famous rates letter),I was attempting to purchase
groceries after midnite on Friday- and was informed that I lacked sufficient
funds. I was annoyed because I had deposited my check in an auto-teller
at 5:30 p on Thursday-they didn't clear the funds from a payroll check
drawn on their account in a business day.

I called them on Saturday and they informed me that Previous to a Recent
Policy change- my funds would not have been available til Monday -almost
4 days! They now considered Saturday a business day-as opposed to previous
policy(I guess just because they were open, took deposits, allowed
withdrawals, and did everything that a bank does-because it was not a
week day-it was not a business day).

Basically, their rule of thumb was that a deposit to an auto-teller made
after 5pm- would be processed the next day and would appear the following
business day in the auto-teller accessible account. Bear in mind that this
was THEIR CHECK that took this horrendous amount of time to clear.

Oh well- I for one am bailing for reasons other than the rate increases.
