The 39th President of the United States (one term only 1977–1981, then
defeated by Ronald Reagan) is scheduled to speak in my adopted home
town of San Francisco on Sun, Feb 24 2013 @ 12:30 hrs, under the
auspices of the Commonwealth Club*. The event has been sold out since
shortly after its announcement.

Readers should be advised that JC's historical novel about the
Revolutionary War in Georgia entitled HORNET'S NEST [2003] displays
real genius. An actual mind will be at the podium tomorrow, although
we doubt that it will there reveal much of itself. Furthermore,
although JC has long presented himself to the world as Mr. Human
Rights, USA, the record shows clearly, in video even, that he
displayed his trademark SEG or "Shit-Eating Grin" at the banquet in
the auditorium upstairs, while down in the sound-proofed basement the
secret police under his direction were torturing to death scores of
thousands of victims. This murder mask particularly well documented in
the cases of Iran under the U.S. puppet Shah and in El Salvador under
various U.S. puppets. Maybe I will have time for a longer commentary
but for now herewith some questions & notes beforehand, for the
possible use of those who may be attending the event:

1.) What odds that Jews such as Henry Kissinger & Ariel Sharon were
the intellectual authors of the 9/11/2001 attacks in the USA, rather
than Arabs such as OBL & Muhammad Atta? Could essentially the same
entity be behind the construction of atomic bombs at Dimona, the
sniping of President John F. Kennedy, the attack on the USS LIBERTY
and the destruction of the WTC ?

2.) Have you already published any reflections on your 1977 New Year's
toast in Tehran to the then Shah of Iran? If yes, will you give us the
citation?

3.) Ditto re your response, or possible lack thereof, to Archbishop
Oscar Romero's letter to you in March of 1980 and your continued
policy towards El Salvador after Romero's assassination which, as you
will remember, followed within weeks of your receipt of his letter.
Did you at any time thereafter publicly express opposition to
President Reagan's subsequent policies in Central America, with their
hundreds of thousands of murders, especially of Mayans?

4.) In 1996 you joined all the living U.S. Presidents in opposing
California's referendum measure in favor of the medical use of
marijuana. Despite such high-level opposition, the measure passed
overwhelmingly. Are you now proud of your stated position at that
time? Do you still support the so-called "War On Drugs"?

5.) Whom since 1900 do you most admire?

6.) Should the government pay all mothers a regular salary for raising
at least their first two children up to school age?

7.) Which government, regime or other organization on our Planet now
poses the biggest threat to world peace?

8.) Does the prohibition of aggressive war by the International
Military Tribunal sitting at Nuremberg in 1945 have the force of law
both internationally and for the U.S. Government?

9.) If yes to Question #8, then what does this imply for the many U.S.
military bases in many foreign countries and for decades of violent US
attacks against so many foreign targets, which attacks blatantly
continue today?

10.) OTOH should you answer negatively to Question #8, then what would
be your reasoning thereon and have you already expressed such publicly
on an earlier occasion? (BTW the name of our mutual sometime close
contact Zbigniew Brzezinski PhD comes to mind in this regard.
Literally speaking & subject to explanation, Zbig recruited you after
I had already recruited him. We can leave for later the issue of our
trilateral dining companion, David Rockefeller.)

11.) My esteemed Jewish friend Gideon Polya PhD of Melbourne has
estimated that U.S. military invasions of various countries worldwide
since 1950 have resulted in some 30,000 [thirty million] excess
deaths. His subtotal for fatalities resulting from U.S.Gov violence in
the Middle East since 1990 = ~12,000,000 [twelve million]. Have you
already considered such numbers at all? Have you other related
estimates for us to evaluate?

12.) For your 28th book, hows about something along the lines of
CONFESSIONS OF JIMMY CARTER, AS TOLD TO....?
.....................
Later it occurs to me to ask also, did JC consider at all displaying
Ronald Reagan's many commercial appearances during the former's bid
for reelection in 1980?

Deanna Congileo, director, Carter Center Office of Public
Information; press secretary to President and Mrs. Carter.

Dear Madame Congileo,

Will you please tell me if President Carter will be holding a press
conference during his impending trip to San Francisco, in addition to
his scheduled (and sold-out) speech at Herbst Theater?

BTW:

a) When I was born, FDR was President. In your expert opinion, when I
address a letter for the first time to a woman official such as your
honorable self, should I switch to the "Ms." title as default?

b) Our distinguished visitor should be aware of the historical novel
OUR VALIANT FEW [1956] by F. Van Wyck Mason, since it deals with the
role of the port of Savannah in creating submarine warfare. BAS =
"Belt And Suspenders".

c) IMHO HORNET'S NEST [2003] = a work of genius except, maybe, for the
placement of the apostrophe. The treatment did make me wonder whether
the author himself had any Tory blood two centuries upstream.

Sincerely, Hal Womack

Dear President Carter,

I am writing as a San Franciscan & retired MUNI operator to call to
your attention an important circumstance pertaining to your impending
appearance here this coming Sunday 24 February. Namely that this my
long-adopted home town can boast of an extremely rare & valuable
resource whom on this important occasion you may possibly wish
honorably to exploit for maximum value.

I refer to my friend & neighbor, as it were, retired U.S. Army Major
and Medal of Honor winner Charlie Liteky, [bornFebruary 14, 1931 (age
82)] who resides with his goodwife Judy in the [Shadyside] area here.

Despite the corruption & fraud rampant in every sector of American
society, one does suppose that all winners of the Medal of Honor are,
in fact, physically brave warriors(_pace_ the civilian Mary Edwards
Walker). Charlie, however, has in addition repeatedly exhibited the
highest forms of spiritual & intellectual courage, going to Federal
prison at least twice in protest against notorious USGov war crimes in
Central America & elsewhere. In the Spring of 2003 he also risked his
life to stand* with the saintly peace leader Kathy Kelly in Baghdad
alongside the Iraqi orphans before and during SonnaBush's criminal
invasion of that now occupied & destoyed country.

Do you pause to reflect on Charlie's demonstrated character, then you
may perhaps agree with my own judgment that his example has huge
potential for helping to promote the salvation of our own country and,
therefore, of our larger world as well. Yet Charlie lives locally
quite modestly & quietly. Despite his valorous deeds, he's far from
being over-publicized already, to say the least.

Do you perhaps wish to give Charlie some public recognition this week
as a noteworthy ally in promoting your own view of a more wholesome
order of things?

If so, then you should be aware that Charlie's a past master at
guarding his own privacy. As the esteemed lawyer Gerry Spence once
said of himself, Charlie exhibits some likeness to an old stag,
adroitly bounding away even from apparently friendly intrusions into
his domain.

Should fair Rosalynn, however, somehow be moved to call the very
capable Judy as prep to your telephoning Charlie then, in view of your
own eminence, IMHO you would have a good chance of putting him on
stage with you this Sunday. Sometimes sharing strengthens, eh what?

I have in mind that you would introduce Charlie with pride to the
audience, by far most of whom would be surprised to learn what you
have to say on that point. You would then allow him to speak as long
as he wishes, which I expect would be both quite brief & effective.
[Further, you would have offered to send a limo with a couple of
young, attractive, competent aides to convey the Litekys to & from the
event. Charlie's health has its shaky moments, I think, even though
he's your junior.]

Should you in fact execute this plan, which I here venture humbly to
suggest, then you will be in a most dramatic fashion holding up before
our Planet the model of an American officer who has seen the error of
his nation's ways and who has dared boldly to act to redress the
damage done insofar as that goal lies within his power. A most
precious image within your reach for decision at this present moment?

Since your event sold out almost immediately on its announcement, I
myself expect to miss the affair, unless the Commonwealth Club decides
at the last moment to live-stream it. One does assume of course that,
in any event, your staff will retain a permanent video record.

I am a prolific writer on social theory, having posted >7K articles on
Usenet newsgroups since 1994 and having been active politically since
30 years before then, starting with supporting Dr.King as a young
Texan (going to jail in Huntsville very briefly at the invitation of
the SCLC) and then working effectively in several States for a dozen
years during war time in support of the just cause of the Vietnamese,
brilliantly & victoriously led by Ho Chi Minh. Maybe I will also post
an article on your own career in connection with your present visit to
this soft post for Democrats but hornets' nest for Republicans.

Meanwhile, as you can see, Sir, the most urgent matter to your desk
first.

Sincerely, Hal Womack

Activists in Baghdad Brace for Consequences of War
by Greg Barrett

BAGHDAD - If the invasion that the Pentagon has dubbed "Operation
Shock and Awe" commences, Charlie Liteky is unlikely to feel either.

Charles Liteky
Ex-U.S. Army Captain [promoted to Major, actually --HW]
Congressional Medal of Honor
He expects the United States to bomb Iraq. He expects noise and
destruction more powerful and frightening than he has ever known. He
expects the Earth to shake and houses to go dark and children to
scream themselves hoarse.

But Liteky sounds more determined than frightened.

Like 20 other members of the Chicago-based Iraq Peace Team who remain
in Baghdad even as hostilities appear certain, Liteky abhors cluster
bombs, cruise missiles and the civil unrest that combat causes. As a
decorated Vietnam veteran, he knows firsthand the chaos and carnage of
war.

That's precisely why he sounded elated Tuesday morning when he told
his wife that the Iraqi government had extended his tourist visa 10
days and is likely to extend it again, long enough for him to help
Iraqi children through the difficult time....}

Dear President Carter,

Maybe I will post another one of my many articles to the Usenet before
your speech here in San Francisco day after tomorrow, i.e, Sunday 24
February.

I want immediately to flash to you this letter, however, so that as a
matter of record your office will have received in a timely fashion
the twelve [12] questions given below:

1.) What odds that Jews such as Henry Kissinger & Ariel Sharon were
the intellectual authors of the 9/11/2001 attacks in the USA, rather
than Arabs such as OBL & Muhammad Atta? Could essentially the same
entity be behind the construction of atomic bombs at Dimona, the

and the destruction of the WTC ?

2.) Have you already published any reflections on your 1977 New Year's

California's referendum measure in favor of the medical use of
marijuana. Despite such high-level opposition, the measure passed
overwhelmingly. Are you now proud of your stated position at that

END OF QUESTIONS

I note a) The following remark attributed to you: "I'll never tell a
lie. I'll never make a misleading statement. I'll never betray the
confidence that any of you had in me. And I'll never avoid a
controversial issue.... " And b) That you have FTR or "Failed To
Respond" to my emails to you and to your office on last Fri, Feb 15,
2013 at 07:08 hrs PST and on last Tue, Feb 19, 2013 at 7:11 hrs.

BTW peanuts do go so well with chicken, for example, in the dish
_goong bao gee ding_. Personally I also recommend substituting
jalape~nos for the too bland bell peppers. Green vegetables are
important!

===========================

Last Fri, Feb 15, 2013 at 07:08 hrs, I emailed Deanna Congileo, the
director of the Carter Center Office of Public Information & press
secretary to President and Mrs. Carter, asking her if JC would also
give a press conference while in town. Ms. Congileo FTR or "Failed To
Respond" to my inquiry.

I'm making a point to do this little warm-up for the old man's (age
88, born October 1, 1924) appearance here because of a surprising
discovery recently, thanks to a friendly tip. Rather than being a
merely typical murdering, thieving, lying dumb-fuck U.S. politician
like the feck of 'em, Jimmy Carter is a genius! Really, you can easily
see for yourself by reading his historical novel THE HORNET'S NEST
[2003, also available in BIG PRINT] about the American revolutionary
war, centered in Georgia. A master mind tells this tale.

So since I learned about the character of our famous --or izzit more
properly "infamous", such be the Q of this little note-- impending
visitor, I now make a point of frankly addressing his record, at least
in short form, knowing that he is fully capable of understanding my
remarks, should they come to his attention and assuming that his
health & acuity have continued stable this last decade.

Carter Quotes:

1. ) Human rights is the soul of our foreign policy, because human
rights is the very soul of our sense of nationhood....
2.) Republicans are men of narrow vision, who are afraid of the
future....
3.) If you fear making anyone mad, then you ultimately probe for the
lowest common denominator of human achievement....
4.) Jesus never said a word about homosexuality. In all of his
teachings about multiple things - he never said that gay people should
be condemned. I personally think it is very fine for gay people to be
married in civil ceremonies....
5.) I hate to see complacency prevail in our lives when it's so
directly contrary to the teaching of Christ....
6.) I thought then, and I think now, that the invasion of Iraq was
unnecessary and unjust. And I think the premises on which it was
launched were false.
7.) I have often wanted to drown my troubles, but I can't get my wife
to go swimming....
8.) I'll never tell a lie. I'll never make a misleading statement.
I'll never betray the confidence that any of you had in me. And I'll
never avoid a controversial issue....
9.) Whatever starts in California unfortunately has an inclination to
spread....
10.) It is good to realize that if love and peace can prevail on
earth, and if we can teach our children to honor nature's gifts, the
joys and beauties of the outdoors will be here forever.

BTW strongly recommended = the film EXECUTIVE ACTION (1973) starring
Burt Lancaster, written by Dalton Trumbo, Mark Lane and Donald Freed.
The plot line shows a conspiracy led by H. L. Hunt to assassinate
JFK.
This was a wrong understanding, superseded in 1994 by Michael Collins
Piper with the publication of his masterful FINAL JUDGMENT. We now
know that Bernard Baruch & David Ben Gurion partnered to whack Jack in
order to promote jootool LBJ. Even so, the earlier film rates as a
fine entertainment.
