These statements were made by Michael Savage on Thursday, June 13th,
2002 in the first hour of his nationally syndicated radio show the
Savage Nation:

"Now I'm going to say something now and I won't say it ever again on
my program, perhaps. There are a group of people try to drive me out
of the radio business. They are working around the clock with lies and
hate. They are the true haters, they are the neo nazis of our time. I
doubt that they will succeed, they haven't damaged me at all. I
haven't lost one iota, not one station or one advertiser. But they're
slurring me."

"If they should succeed in damaging my career, if they should succeed
in driving me away from radio; I'm going to ask you to go on to
Michael Savage .com and have your name put on to a master directory
for me. I will release their names and addresses at that time. I will
release their names and addresses to you and I will disappear from
public life. But I can guarantee you that what goes around comes
around and that's all I'm going to say right now. If you haven't
gotten it yet, get it"

"I'm more powerful than you are you little hateful nothings. You call
yourself this for that and that for this. You say you represent
groups, you represent nobody but the perverts that you hang around
with and I'm warning you if you try to damage me any further with
lies, be aware of something: that which you stoke shall come to burn
you, the ashes of the fireplace will come and burn your own house
down. Be very careful, you are living in incendiary times. You can't
just throw things at people and walk away thinking that you had a
little fun. I warn you; I'm gonna warn you again, if you harm me and I
pray that no harm comes to you, but I can't guarantee that it won't. "

These statements were transcibed directly from a digital audio file of
the show. I have that digital audio file.

Kind of reminds me of another RW talk show foamer, Micheal Gallagher.
One day, while talking about the latest travails of the "finest" in
the NYC area, one caller went and called the police "pigs". Both
Gallagher and one other caller, later after the caller was gone,
expressed the sentiment that they hoped this caller would find
himself alone in an alley with three or more of them, or something
along those lines. ;-)

Put down that crack pipe!
I'd love to see your hero in a REAL debate that he cannot micromanage

Then what's the beef? Oh, I'm sure a web site by some whiner

But then again, actions speak louder than words. Mike "Savage"

My, but the argumentum ad hominem really suits you. Such is
one of "Savage"'s favourite tacktics.

I don't think that anyone on the right can complain about
letter writing campaigns and boycotts after they wrote the
_book_ on trying to stifle the voices of those that they don't
want to hear through such tactics.

I'm in favour of freedom of speech. I don't want to shut
Mike "Savage" up. I think he'd look fine on a soapbox on
Market Street or on the Berkeley Campanilla. But I think
it is _my_ right to express _my_ displeasure with the doyens
of DTW for hosting such a loathsome display of viciousness
and hatred.

If I can talk people of good conscience into deciding that
such a slimy vermin doesn't deserve thousands of kilowatts
of broadcast power to spead his vitriol, that is as it
should be.

The "point" I addressed earlier was this:

>Appareently they are to shallow and cowardly to do so.

Savage inviting "liberals" to debate him on the air
does not make a fair forum for debate.
Speaking of cowards, your last statement makes you
a coward for dodging my point.
Savage routinely "pots down" the voices of callers and
interupts them in mid sentence. This is not a fair debate.
Explain how someone is "shallow" or a "coward" for not
calling up for free abuse???

Consider reading some books, otherwise Savage will retard

1) ba.broadcast is chock FULL of KSFO loonies. Has been
since before Shann Nixx did her "Naked Lunch" broadcasts

2) The Bay Area is also where all the 'Savage' nonsense

If enough people don't bother listening to his program, don't
be surprised if his program goes away. The people who pay for the
transmitter get their income from advertising and you don't get any
advertisers if the advertisers know that no one is listening.

BTW, I don't listen to him (actually, I've given up on radio in
general due to the obnoxious nature of advertising on most if not
all stations---not only is there too much advertising, but too much
of the ads seem to consist of fast talking, screaming idiots).

Regardless of whether the radios are tunable or switchable, all need a
power source. At worst (if you can't find the on/off switch), you can
unplug the unit or take out the batteries.

The above comment is independent of the content of Savage's program,
which I've never bothered listening to (nor have I heard Dr. Laura,
referred to as "that woman doctor on the radio" in the Lamplighter's
production of The Mikado last summer. They updated Koko's list
of pending victims who "would surely not be missed" in case they
had to execute someone, and also included "democrats and republicans
who left us in the dark" which left the audience rolling on the floor
laughing, particularly as they dimmed the lights for dramatic
effect.)

No one is forcing people to listen to Savage's show. Don't like him? Why
listen?

Yes - precisely. I for one - can't get too worked up about anything Mr.
Savage might say, since I quit listening to him years ago. I greatly enjoy
listening to talk show hosts with views different from my own - but he
committed the unpardonable sin of being boring. I checked in on his show
about a year ago and had to turn him off after about half an hour. Savage
just has his schtick, and once you've heard it - you've heard it. Yawn.....

Maybe they are listening from someplace like North Korea. Off-buttons are
illegal over there
(or so I've heard...)

I guess making ignorant remarks like that is a heck of a lot easier than
coming up with an intelligent argument to support your position, especially
when one has a shortage of brain cells.

Funny how people who make such ridiculous, inflammatory, and stupid
statements, lecture OTHERS about being "hate-filled". Grow up, Little Boy.
