I will avoid the area for the next two weeks, but please update us if you
head that way.

PS: Hopefully the gravel on Tunitas has been scraped by now, so I can
switch to that climb instead.
Thanks for the info! It motivated me to get out there for one last ride
before they work on it. Haven't heard from anyone lately as to the present
condition of Tunitas; hopefully I caught it as things were getting better,
not worse, but there were many ominous large piles of gravel at the side of
the road, not yet used.

In fact, there were a couple of cyclists going down too. What's up
with that?! Its almost as bad as going down Old La Honda East back to
the Portola loop - stupid, when they could go down La Honda (Hwy 84)
where there is alot less traffic and longer windy turns! People wake
up!

Why so much umbrage?
Old La Honda (east) is a nice descent now that the road has been mostly repaved.
I like it better than CA84 (east) as it has less motor traffic. But best to keep
to the right side of the road at blind corners, both going uphill and downhill.
Descending Tunitas Creek Rd. is still as bumpy as ever with potholes hidden in the
shadows. Would be a nicer descent if it got a resurfacing like Old La Honda
(east).
Descending either of these makes for a nice break from the routine. Last time I
checked these were not one-way roads.

BE GLAD! If they repave Tunitas Creek Rd you can bet that the cars will
multiply and they will begin racing on it.
