Here is the link to the rules for a Dart:
http://www.rusa.org/dartrules.html Here is an excerpt that will interest you.
Article 1
The Dart is an event whereby teams of cyclists all ride to a common destination from various starting points. An RBA may schedule a Dart with an official minimum distance of between 180km and 359km. The corresponding event time period is the same as the maximum allowed time for a RUSA-sanctioned (non-ACP-sanctioned) brevet or populaire of the Dart's official minimum distance.
Article 7
Each team is to design its own route of at least the official minimum distance. A successful Dart ride counts as the official minimum distance in RUSA distance awards, even if a longer distance was covered in the event time period. If a Dart’s official minimum distance is 200km or greater, finishers are eligible for R-12 credit.
So, that answer to your question is - maybe. IF the minimum distance is defined to be at least 200k, THEN the Dart will count toward an R-12.
Susan is the RBA and will be the decider in the event distance.
