Dunbars of Muirkirk

I am researching the Dunbar family who lived and worked in and around
Muirkirk in the 19th century. David Dunbar emigrated to New Zealand
in the 1890s but he, his brother and father were involved in a pit
accident on 17 June 1887 where his father John Dunbar was killed.
John was born around 1835 in Holywood, Dumfries and married Margaret
Hamilton who was born in Stonehouse around 1842. They had 9 children
that I know of including David above and from what I have been able to
learn their daughter Mary was the first child to be born in Muirkirk
in around 1865. I would be very interested to hear from anyone who
can give me more information about these Dunbars.
