J Henderson Paton and Maybole Photographer (Lennox Family)

Hello, i am in Australia and have been researching our family history
(Lennox) from the Wigtonshire. We have recently with the passing of a
family member come across a photograph taken by J Henderson from Paton
and Maybole. I am interested to find out if anyone knows when J
Henderson was active with Paton and Maybole so we can date the
photograph and determine who the family member is in the picture.

James Henderson born abt 1849 in New Cumnock, Ayrshire is in the 1891
and 1901 censuses as a photographer living in Main Street Straiton in
the district of Patna. Maybole is a larger town so presumably he had
a studio there as well.

I haven't looked in 1911 census.

I too have a picture of my grandmother, Matilda Dempsie taken by J Henderson
Paton and Maybole. She lived at The Hill Patna and I would guess it would
have been taken on her 21st birthday in 1902. I hope this may give you a
date line.
