Newmilns football

Looking for somebody who can help me with some information about
Newmilns football around 1885-1900, looking for info about the Wilson
brothers who played for Newmilns around this time, any info would be
greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Hi Art - would like to know names of Wilson brothers. My family were Newmilns Wilsons (the poor ones, not the mill owners!)

John not sure when born David born 1864 Hugh born 1869 James not sure when born I think the sons where actually born in Mauchline, then moved to Newmilns,at one point the family owned the Angel Inn in Newmilns, they were all soccer players, Hugh was the most famous he played with the early Sunderland teams who won 3 championships in the 1890's   Art Greenwood --- On Sun, 2/27/11, happymanoftheworld <stuartb...@hotmail.com> wrote:

Many thanks for that - I know that our relatives weren't rich enough for that!! They were poor weavers.
 
Do you live in the area because there is one of those photographic history type books of Newmilns and I seem tro remember photos of a couple of football temes.
